Okay, as promised, more about this fundraiser we're
doing.

Meet
Chris Coffey, pictured left.  He is an Exercise
Physiologist at the Exercise Medicine Center at
Children's Hosptial in St. Paul.

After appearing on The Rachael Ray Show and KARE 11,
Chris contacted me and asked if I'd be willing to come
down and take several exercise tests so that I could
compare where I am now to where I am when I reach the
goal.

For some unknown reason, I thought, "Sure, that sounds
like fun."

Imagine the look on my face when he told me one of the
tests was a vertical jump.  After I stopped laughing he
actually got me to do it.  Six times.  He might be pretty
good at his job because I improved with each attempt.  I
think he called me a "sandbagger" at least 3 times,
however.  Nice, Chris.

I took a variety of other exercise tests that measured
upper and lower body strength, flexibility, hand-eye
coordination, body fat and lung capacity.  I'll report more
on this later when I get the results of these tests.

Since Chris was gracious enough to invite me to take
this diagnostic and Clover has a strong affection for
Children's Hospitals, we decided to make the
Exercise
Medicine Clinic our charitable organization for the other
motivators who wanted to get involved.

It seems very appropriate to collect resources for a clinic
which specializes in treating illnesses and improving the
overall health of children (and adults) through exercise
therapy since so many life-long weight issues begin in
childhood, as mine did.

If you want to know more about what these guys do (and I
strongly encourage you to check it out) you can find out

I think he's pointing at one of my test results.  You can tell because he looks
amused.
